Sara’s 40th Birthday at the Wayfarer, Manchester

So, a while back at the end of December, I photographed Sara’s 40th birthday party in Manchester city centre pub/bar The Wayfarer, situated in the Northern Quarter. They used the downstairs function room and hired in outside catering for a finger buffet. I was engaged by her wife Stacey – all long range from  Australia, so we had to plan contact times accordingly.

What a lovely party this was! Full of fun, life and variety, so much love. Being that Sara and Stacey are living in  Australia, it was a rare occasion for family and friends to get together to mix and party hard. As a photographer on occasions like this, you are on the outside looking in, which provides some objectivity, but at the same time, you live your life vicariously through the party guests, almost experiencing their energy and emotions. It is my job to capture that in a bottle and make sure that  Sara and her guests are left with memories that do the occasion justice. I think I did alright.
